Harrisburg Schools of the Past
Edison Junior High opened in 1923 and closed in 1975.
The Lincoln School on State Street now houses Cougar Academy, Harrisburg School District’s cyber school program.
The old Tech Senior High served as Harrisburg’s city hall after the school closed; the building has now been renovated into apartments.
The Simon Cameron School is on the National Register of Historic Places and now houses apartments.
William Penn High School, located in the Uptown district, opened in 1926 alongside
John Harris High School. The school was the site of some important protests in the late 1960s and closed in 1971.
